 Challenges

     Competition

There are other multimedia effects shows within Singapore such as the “light and sound show” within Gardens by the Bay and “Spectra”, a light and water show in Marina Bay Sands. Additionally, both multimedia effects shows are free for visitors to experience. This serves as competition to One Faber Group. Especially “Spectra” as it is also a water show and it has Water Pumps, 3D projection mapping and lasers. Hence, causing the experience at Spectra to have not much of a difference when compared to Wings of Time. As “Spectra” is free, people may want to visit Spectra instead of the Wings of Time.

      Shelter

Within the location of the Wings of Time, there is no shelter. However, there will be no refunds for the show when it rains as the show will go on. This may cause unfortunate visitors to get caught in the rain and have an unpleasant experience. As visitors will not be given any items that will be able to protect them for the elements, they can feel unappreciated and bad service or planning from the staff. Hence, there may have more negative reviews for the show and negativity may spread through word of mouth.

      Target group

As the attractions mainly caters towards families and occasionally couples, it is shown through the attractions that One Faber Group understands their audiences’ needs and wants. However, as they are only focusing on just one main target market, they are losing out to competition and neglecting potential areas for revenue. Locals whose demographics are teenagers can be said to be one of the larger markets that visits Sentosa. However, there are not many factors within the attractions that attracts the teenagers. To entice them to visit the attractions, One Faber Group can implement student discounts or freebies so that they are willing to go.

Sentosa Merlion

My Research! A photo of me in Sentosa previously! The Sentosa Merlion is one of the main attractions within Singapore. It can be dubbed as one of Singapore’s most well-known icon. It is the tallest Merlion in Singapore with a whopping height of 37 metres! After the journey within the Merlion, visitors are rewarded with a unique view of Sentosa at the mouth and the head of the half-lion half-fish statue. Programme Screenshot from: http://merlion.sentosa.com.sg/explore-whats-inside.aspx Within the Merlion,  there are exhibition galleries where visitors will be able to enjoy learning about the origins and history of how Singapore was founded. As shown in the screenshot above, there are lucky statues which give a Prosperity Coin as a souvenir. There is also a section called the Prosperity Bell, a symbol for peace and prosperity, which can be rung for luck and positive energy. The main product within the attraction is the view at the mouth and the head of ...

Wings of Time

My Research! The last attraction is an Award Winning Outdoor multi-sensory Night Show. It is the first permanent multimedia night show in the world that is stationed in an open sea. Collaborated and partnered with ECA2, an award-winning French show company, they have created several shows within Sentosa and at the location of the night show itself. A man-made attraction meant for tourism, The Wings of Time will most definitely give an interesting experience for their visitors! Programme Wings of time is a night show that tells a story of a Rachel and Felix’s adventure after meeting a pre-historic bird called Shahbaz through a series of the latest multimedia effects. The effects consist of fire, water, fireworks, 3D projection mapping and lasers which are bound to captivate their audiences.
